Movie: On the Waterfront (1954)

On the Waterfront:

The film with the classic Marlon Brando line: "… I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody …". I didn’t know that until I watched the film, so it was quite cool to realise it after I saw it.

Anyway, this film was very good. The control and fear that the mob run union had was really very tight, and reasonably believable. Marlon Brando’s acting was top notch, and it was nice to see Karl Malden playing alongside him, I last saw him in another film that Marlon Brando and he did together – ‘A Streetcar Named Desire‘.

I really enjoyed this film, though some of the acting I didn’t think was the best, but it was still very good.

Definitely one worth watching.

I give it 8/10
