Movie: Dial M for Murder (1954)

Dial M for Murder:

Another Hitchcock thriller.

The film starts with a scene in a home, husband and wife, seemingly happy. We learn not long after that the wife has a lover. Initially we don’t realise that the husband knows, but, he does!

He ends up planning a murder of his wife, but, things don’t quite go to plan, and that’s where the thriller part of the story comes in.

I think it was fairly well done, but, without watching it again, I don’t think anyone could ever have figured out the ending, purely because we never saw part of a scene. Still, I’d probably have never figured it out in the first place – these thriller movies are interesting, but, they do make me feel stupid for not figuring things out. 🙂

The film was shot in 3D, and turned ‘flat’. So the visuals were a little odd – seemed like things and people were superimposed on top of one another.

I give it 8/10
