Lots of German accents in this movie. The movie starts off with a Jewish kid investigating a neo-nazi group in Paraguay. It’s all going fairly slowly until he uncovers a plot that is being hatched by the group.
This movie kept me in suspense for a long part of it, because (to my non detective mind), it gave few clues away.
There was a historical inaccuracy that did confuse me, it involves Hitler’s hair colour. Or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention to the movie…
I give it 8/10
An interesting role for me to see Jack Nicholson play, one I believe he played very well. His character is a private detective, who is asked by a woman who claims to be the wife to investigate an affair. And the man to be investigated is the chief engineer of a water company.
After investigating for a while, he does manage to get photos of the engineer with a girl, and a story is printed in the news paper, at which point the real wife shows up, and then the story gets a lot more interesting!
The scenery is good, the story keeps you involved – definitely worth a watch. It is based in 1930s Los Angeles.
I give it 8/10
