One thing amused me about this film – the lead parts were played by an Englishman (Christian Bale) and a NZ/Australian man (Russell Crowe) in an American wild west film.
Christian Bale’s character is a rancher, who is rather poor, and is being pushed off his land. He comes across an opportunity to help transport an outlaw (Crowe) for a large sum of money.
The film ends up being a bit of a drama between the two lead characters. It was good, but, IÂ couldn’t really figure out why Crowe’s character would leave Bale alone. He seemed too hard to be that kind of man – especially as early on in the film you can see how ruthless he can be.
However, I generally enjoyed this film, and if you like wild west films, you’ll probably enjoy it.
