This was an educational film for me. I had absolutely no idea that American men were going to France to fly fighter planes before the US was officially involved in the first World War.
The film was inspired by a true story. I assume it wasn’t very strict to the original story, but the film was rather good anyway. It was Hollywoodified almost certainly. The film was mostly about one pilot who came over to France as he had nothing really left in the US, as his ranch had been bankrupted.
The special effects involving the planes was excellent in my opinion.
There was a good amount of humour in the movie too.
I did generally enjoy this movie, but felt it a bit shallow with respects to the French, and the apparent greatness of the Americans.
I give it 7/10.
