I perhaps had higher hopes for this film than I should have had – I vaguely recall it being a ‘hit’ when it came out.
I’m not saying it was a bad film, but it wasn’t a hit as far as I’m concerned. It’s not in the form of Shrek, or Toy Story – films that are good for adults as well as for kids. This one really did seem focused on kids.
There were some very funny parts in this film, and I’m sure kids would love it probably through and through. I just found the ending way too sappy, and was extended way too long into what was an inevitable outcome.
