Never Back Down: A kinda stupid film trying to be a modern Karate Kid and failing badly. I give it 1/10.

Film: Where the Wild Things Are (2009)
Where the Wild Things Are: I think I mostly disliked this film because I had completely different expectations – I thought it was an animated feature, and I also thought it was meant to be a happy film. However, it was not quite like that at all. The film is about a boy’s imagination basically. […]
Film: Che Part 1 & Part 2 (2008/2009)
Che Part 1 & Part 2: This was a slow going biography of Che Guevara, of days before and during the Cuban revolution in part one, and then the failed Bolivian revolution in part two. The two films had quite different imagery, Cuba seemed to be better organised, while Bolivia just didn’t quite get to […]
Film: Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Sherlock Holmes: A kind of odd re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes by Guy Ritchie – where he is a drunk, and a martial arts expert, along with Dr. Watson. The story did keep things a little intriguing, but it wasn’t that good – it was just a bit of a fun blockbuster. However, Moriarty made a […]
Film: Paranormal Activity (2007)
Paranormal Activity: A documentary style horror film. I thought bits of this were really well done, but the characters were far too annoying and stupid. Like most horrors, I suppose. It did however, kind of weird me out a bit, but not enough to class it as a great horror. I give it 3/10
Film: Resident Evil – Extinction (2007)
Resident Evil – Extinction: The Resident Evil set of films really aren’t meant to be taken seriously, so this was just a bit of fun. Zombies, violence, evil corporations, the almost death of humanity. This one has a return of a couple of characters from the second film in the series – Oded Fehr, L.J., […]
Film: The Wrestler (2008)
The Wrestler: This was a mostly depressing film about the life of a wrestler who was a pretty famous character, but is now way past his prime, and leads a very lonely life. It’s quite a tough film to watch – from the violence in the wrestling itself, to the life he has outside of […]
Film: The Ox-Bow Incident (1943)
The Ox-Bow Incident: This film starts fairly early on with the news that a local farmer has been murdered and his cattle stolen. The local town are up in arms and are wanting revenge straight away – however, the sheriff is currently a few days away, so a posse is formed – possibly illegally. They […]
Film: The Kingdom (2007)
The Kingdom: This film could’ve been good, if it wasn’t just so very American friendly and hadn’t made the Arabs look so incredibly inept. As it is, it just seemed like a movie that showed only US FBI agents knew how to investigate a bomb, and the Arabs were bumbling fools, and evil. Other than […]
Film: Mongol (2007)
Mongol: This film is about the rise to power of Genghis Khan. I know very little of the history of Genghis Khan, except that he was meant to be a ruthless leader who took over a large part of the world. The film starts with Temudjin/Temujin as a child and his not particularly peaceful childhood. […]
