The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid:
First things first. This book gave me an odd feeling of nostalgia. Even though I wasn’t alive in the 1950s. IÂ want a time machine, so IÂ can see if all that Bill Bryson wrote is true. It probably is, in which case, I want to go there – but, I’d need to be white, it seems.
This really is an excellent life story of a childhood Bill Bryson growing up in 50’s midwest America, into the 1960s.
It’s filled with mostly happy thoughts, but, then there’s always the bad points of the period, which can be quite depressing.
The most depressing part was that the book actually ended. I kinda wanted to know more about everything!
Excellent book, I would really recommend it.
