I watched this on recommendation from a friend.
It’s about a single mother, who has a son. One day, she goes to work, and comes back home, and he’s not there. There’s a bit of a spoiler here, but, not much – apparently, in reality, she gave her son a dime, to go watch a movie, and he never came back. In the film, he’s sitting at home, on his own, with a neighbour to check on the house later.
There are times when you can see that the film is trying to make you emotional – the film makers are trying to push your buttons, and you can tell. But, that doesn’t really make it a bad thing, in this film. The acting is very good.
I don’t normally notice goofs, or continuity errors, but, near the end of the film, there was a really stupid goof – she goes into a police station at night, but, comes back out in bright sunlight, middle of the day. It’s not shown why she would’ve been in the police station all night.
It is definitely worth watching. It’s also currently on the IMDB top 250, but, it wasn’t at the time I compiled the list that I was going through
I give it 8/10
