Movie: Good Will Hunting (1996)

Good Will Hunting:

I first watched almost the first half of this film on an aeroplane from Washington DC to London in June. I have been waiting for a chance to see it properly since then.

The film is about a young adult genius, who is also a grade A arsehole. He manages to be noticed by some sort of professor in a prestigious university (Harvard?). But, by the time he is noticed, the genius has landed himself in trouble with the law, so he is put under some restrictions that mean he has to go see a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist being Robin Williams.

There’s a lot of wit in this film, and the Will Hunting character (played by Matt Damon) really is irritating, yet fun at the same time.
I also thought Minnie Driver was very good in this film, as the girlfriend of Will Hunting.

The ending did seem rather sudden, however. And I didn’t really follow it.

Quite a few times, the dialogue in this film seemed too quick to follow, and at times, difficult to understand due to enunciation, or simply bad audio capture.

I am not sure why it’s not in the snapshot of the IMDB top 250 I took last year, but now, it’s number 202. I will cheat, and say it was top 250.

I give it 9/10
