Hard Boiled: A John Woo fim with no pretentions – and that’s what made it good.
It’s an unrealistic action film, with a cop who is a real tough guy, and has brains too. I don’t mean that part is unrealistic – I just mean the story itself, and how it plays out is unrealistic.
Reading the trivia on IMDB, I saw this, which made me chuckle:Â “The teahouse where the first sequence was filmed was demolished five days after Woo was done. During filming, the neighbors called the police every night to complain about the gunfire, but the cops were fans of Woo, so they allowed him to complete shooting every night.”
If you like silly action, then this film is worth watching.
I think I’ve seen parts of this film before, but probably not all of it.
