A bit of an epic, this. At 220 minutes long, it felt like an epic too.
A film following the lives of a bunch of childhood friends. Mostly concentrating on two – the characters played by Robert De Niro and James Woods.
It was another relatively complicated story line, at least for me. I didn’t understand why they did what they did after the diamonds. I failed to figure out who the woman at the beginning was, until near the end. I failed to understand how Moe didn’t know who someone was, nor how the suitcase was empty – unless Moe was in on it?
Anyway, it was still a good film, with some good acting by De Niro, playing a total asshole, really.
It could definitely have been shorter.
I give it 7/10
