Movie: The Seventh Seal (1957)

The Seventh Seal:

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this film. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I might, considering the subject matter – that of a Holy crusader knight questioning the existence of God.

I found this movie very slow going, even though it was only 92 minutes long. There were some good (and rather poetic) speeches, but, as a whole, I didn’t find that this film was worth the ratings it has on IMDB – 8.4 as I write this, position 100.

One great thing about the version I watched was the visual quality. It was the 50th anniversary edition on Blu-ray, and it really was crystal clear. I think this is the first black and white movie I’ve seen on Blu-ray.

I give it 7/10.
