The Ox-Bow Incident: This film starts fairly early on with the news that a local farmer has been murdered and his cattle stolen. The local town are up in arms and are wanting revenge straight away – however, the sheriff is currently a few days away, so a posse is formed – possibly illegally. They […]

Film: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford: This seems to be a very odd film – it goes in the category of people’s fascination for criminals, which I’ll never really understand. It was very slow, and the Robert Ford character was very difficult to understand. I give it 4/10
Film: Wyatt Earp (1994)
Wyatt Earp: An epic saga about a real life ‘wild west hero’, Wyatt Earp. An interesting story, kept me interested most of the way through, and it was a very long film. However, I didn’t completely follow what was happening in Tombstone. I give it 7/10
Film: Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Brokeback Mountain: A film about the love between two cowboys. This film was good, but I didn’t think the film really explained the attraction, and how it started. It seemed that one minute they were just friends, and the next, they were in love/lust. I did enjoy the film, however, other than that part. I […]
Film: The Proposition (2005)
The Proposition: I’m not sure why this was on my list. It’s a kind of wild west film, but, set in Australia. It’s possible someone I was talking to on IRC recommended it to me. It’s been too long on the list, so it’s difficult to remember! Anyway, it’s a bit slow moving at times, […]
Film: The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008)
The Good, the Bad, the Weird: And, what a wonderfully weird film indeed! It’s a very enjoyable South Korean action western film. It references a fair few Sergio Leone films – including the title that this film is based on. The action is very well choreographed, the characters are quite interesting, but the end is […]
Movie: For a Few Dollars More (1965)
For a Few Dollars More: First things first, if Clint Eastwood is meant to be the man with no name, then why does he have a name? I’m not a western connoisseur, but, I enjoyed this movie. I also think that’s the first time I’ve ever written ‘connoisseur’, and I appear to have spelt it […]
